The iVerify Pakistan team has checked this content and has established that it is false.

To arrive at this verdict, the iVerify Pakistan team conducted a reverse image search of the video to trace its origin.

Multiple posts circulating on social media platform X since July 24, 2024, shared a screenshot, claiming that it was from a leaked lewd video of Punjab Information Minister Azma Bokhari. However, the video is doctored and a deepfake.

HOW IT STARTED

On July 24, 2024, an X user, who appeared to be a PTI supporter based on her past posts, shared a screenshot that showed a blurred man seemingly kissing a woman. The second image in the screenshot showed a woman with the face of the PML-N leader while her picture was also attached beside it.

The caption for the post said: “Who hasn’t seen Azma Bokhari’s leaked video yet?”

The post gained close to 260,000 views.

METHODOLOGY

A fact check was initiated to determine the veracity of the claim due to its virality, and the serious and harmful nature of the lewd allegations against a woman politician and government official.

To investigate the circulated claim, the minister’s X account was checked to see if she had addressed the issue herself.

An X post from July 25, 2024, was found in which she shared a screenshot from the original video where the face of the actual woman in it can be clearly seen.

“Tomorrow, I will go to the Lahore High Court to seek justice for myself from the chief justice. Is there justice for us women too or is it only for terrorists? Enough, I will fight my case tomorrow,” Bokhari said.

She later filed a petition in the high court against those spreading the video or screenshot early on July 25.

After filing the petition, she talked to the media and said she was there not as a politician but as a citizen seeking justice from the court.

The petition included a list of various accounts that had shared the same video and screenshots. However, most of these accounts later deleted their posts.

Separately, a reverse image search of the screenshot yielded the original video on a porn website. The woman in the original video is not the same as the Punjab information minister.

FACT-CHECK STATUS: FALSE

The claim regarding a lewd viral video showing PML-N’s Azma Bokhari is false.

The video is doctored and a deepfake since the minister’s face has been imposed over the face of the actual woman in the original video.
