Claim

Facebook post of Pakistani actress Iqra Aziz criticises caller tune in PM
  Shehbaz’s voice

Rating Justification

The iVerify Pakistan team reviewed this content and determined that it is
  false.

To reach this conclusion, the iVerify Pakistan team investigated whether the
  account was genuine or not.

Posts from users and digital news pages across several social media platforms
on April 14, 2025, shared an alleged Facebook post of Pakistani actress Iqra
Aziz in which she was criticising a caller tune with the voice of Prime
Minister Shehbaz Sharif. However, the actress made no such remarks as the page
  was fake.

The caller tune of PM Shehbaz announcing relief on power tariffs for the poor
comes after he announced a reduction in electricity prices for domestic
consumers by Rs7.41 per unit on April 3.

HOW IT STARTED:

On April 14, a user on X, who is an activist according to his bio, shared a screenshot from a news page called Fetch
Pakistan that reported on Pakistani actress Iqra Aziz’s alleged remarks
on a caller tune in the voice of PM Shehbaz.

The remarks quoted in the post said, “Increase electricity prices by Rs100
but please remove Showbaz’s voice from the caller tune.”

The post received 103,900 views and was shared 2,500 times.

Fetch Pakistan‘s post on X reported, “Actress
Iqra Aziz humorously commented on social media, saying, ‘Increase electricity
prices by 100 rupees, but please remove Shehbaz’s voice from the caller tune.’
Her witty remark quickly went viral, resonating with many who found the caller
  tune message annoying.”

The outlet also shared the link to its <a href="https://archive.md/BnYpa"

The original post on the Facebook page received 11,000 likes

target="_blank">Pakistan Welfare Organisation In Australia on Facebook,
also reported on the alleged post.

METHODOLOGY

A fact-check was initiated to determine the veracity of the claim due to its
  virality.

Despite the 2.1 million likes on the actress’s alleged Facebook page, its
about section was written from a third-person point of view, and the page was
  also not verified.

Furthermore, the location and the email address for the page were listed as
  New York and goldgreez@yandex.com, respectively.

Moreover, recent pictures posted on its feed included old screenshots from
  dramas and photoshoots.

The team compared the Facebook page under investigation with the actress’s

rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">account where she is active

  actor husband Yasir Husain.

On her Instagram stories, the actress had shared a link to the Facebook page,
calling it a “fake” and asking people to report it. “Help me report this fake
Facebook page in my name,” she wrote, confirming that the mocking remarks
about PM Shehbaz weren’t made by her.

rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">post on her official Facebook
  account on April 15.

The Facebook post from the impostor account was later taken down as well.

FACT-CHECK STATUS: FALSE

The claim that actress Iqra Aziz in a Facebook post mocked a caller tune in

The Facebook page in her name was a fake and not owned or operated by her.
