To reach this conclusion, iVerify Pakistan conducted keyword and reverse image searches to trace the original source.

Multiple pro-Hindutva users on social media platform X have been sharing a video since June 30, 2026, claiming that it shows an Indian Muslim in Kerala whose daughters severed his genitals after he repeatedly abused them sexually. However, the video is from an unrelated incident in Faridpur, Bangladesh, where a wife allegedly severed her sleeping husband’s genitals, following a domestic dispute.

HOW IT STARTED

On June 30, an account which appears to be right-wing pro-Hindutva, based on past posts, shared a video on X with the following caption: “He used to rape his three daughters on a regular basis. This time, he was trying to rape his fourth , 6.5 years old daughter - but all three elder daughter cut his penis. This is from Keralam, no prizes for guessing their religion ”

The post gained 5.4 million views.

“Guess the religion,” the post added, implying that the man was Muslim.

The account has also previously shared content targeting Muslims, showing a pattern of anti-Muslim posts.

Another pro-Hindutva account on X also shared the same video the same day with the following captions: “He used to regularly rape his three daughters … This time, he was trying to rape his fourth daughter, who is 6.5 years old — but all three elder daughters cut off his genitals … This video is from Kerala; no reward is offered for guessing his religion.”

The post gained 505,900 views.

METHODOLOGY

A fact-check was initiated to determine the veracity of the claim due to its high virality and keen public interest in the rise of Islamophobia and anti-Muslim targeting in India.

A keyword search was conducted to verify whether any credible Indian or international media outlets had reported the video or that a man in Kerala had allegedly been sexually abusing his four daughters before they severed his genitals. However, no such reports were found.

A reverse image search conducted to trace the origin of the viral clip yielded an X post uploaded on June 29, 2026, by a pro-Hindu account with the same video.

The post was captioned: “A wife cut off her husband’s private parts while he was sleeping because he married a second time. The horrific incident took place in Faridpur, Bangladesh”.

Further searches also yielded the same video shared on June 30, 2026, by a user on X, with the caption: “Wife slices off sleeping husband’s genitals in brutal revenge after bitter fight – Bangladesh horror. This unbelievable, crazy incident that happened in Bangladesh today … The families and neighbours caught her before she could escape and handed her over to the police, while as for Hanif, the doctors said that the possibility of reattaching the organ to its place is very slim.”

Daily Bangla Post, a local Bangladeshi news platform, also reported the incident on its YouTube channel dated June 29, 2026, with the caption: “Wife arrested for allegedly cutting off her sleeping husband’s genitals”.

Additionally, a keyword search yielded a news report from a Bangladeshi news outlet regarding the domestic dispute involving a husband and wife in Faridpur. Glive24 published a report on June 29, 2026, titled: “Wife arrested after severing sleeping husband’s genitals.”

According to the report, a woman in Bhanga Upazila, Faridpur, Bangladesh, was arrested after allegedly severing her sleeping husband’s genitals with a razor blade following a domestic dispute. The victim, identified as Hanif Sheikh, sustained critical injuries and was taken to the hospital, while police detained the accused woman after neighbours alerted emergency services.

The report also included allegations made by the woman regarding prolonged domestic abuse and her husband’s alleged relationships with other women, although police stated that these claims had not been independently verified and that a formal investigation would proceed once an official complaint was filed.
