Viral clip shows female Pakistani cop with music from Bollywood movie Dhurandhar in the background

RATING JUSTIFICATION

The iVerify Pakistan team investigated this content and determined that it is misleading.

To reach this conclusion, iVerify Pakistan conducted a reverse image search and reviewed the original source of the video.

Multiple accounts on social media platform X shared a clip on December 25, 2025, that allegedly showed a female cop inside a police station as a song from the recently released Bollywood film Dhurandhar plays in the background. However, the clip is not of a policewoman but an actor, and is a part of a shoot.

The song used in the viral video, ‘Fa9la’, is featured in the Bollywood film Dhurandhar. The film has been criticised by Pakistani social media users for its perceived anti-Pakistan narrative, while Indian netizens have accused Pakistanis of hypocrisy for using music from the film in social media content and events such as weddings.

On Dec 12, an application was filed in a district court in Karachi seeking the registration of a case against the director, producer and other crew members of the movie for defaming the PPP.

HOW IT STARTED

On December 25, a pro-PTI account on X shared a video showing a woman dressed in a police uniform inside a police station as the Bollywood song plays in the background.

The caption read: “Mr inspector general of Punjab! Please take a look. Has the sanctity of the uniform now been reduced to merely begging for likes and views on TikTok? Is this the police department or some theatre?”

The post gained over 24,000 views.

The same video was also shared by a pro-Indian account that frequently shares anti-Pakistan content on X with the following caption: “Another SHO (station house officer) in Pakistan police vibing on Dhurandhar’s music.”

This post gained over 103,000 views.

Other users shared the same video with similar captions, as can be seen here, here and here, collectively gaining over 91,851 views.

METHODOLOGY

A fact-check was initiated to determine the veracity of the claim due to its virality and public interest.

A reverse image search yielded an Instagram account with content featuring the same woman. According to her Instagram bio, she is a Karachi-based fashion model and actor.

It was found that the woman posted the same viral video on Dec 12, 2025, with the following caption: “On trending. SHO Zaynab Fatima is on round active guys. Thanks for your love my followers. It’s just a shoot. I know the original police are not wearing high heels. Stop criticism and enjoy the glam look of police.”

Other videos and posts shared on the account made it clear, as indicated by their captions, that she was wearing the police uniform for the purpose of filming a short video.

FACT-CHECK STATUS: MISLEADING

The claim that a viral video shows a female Pakistani cop inside a police station as a song from Bollywood movie Dhurandhar plays in the background is misleading.

The woman in the video is not a policewoman but a fashion model and actor, with the video being part of a short film’s shoot.
