The iVerify Pakistan team investigated this content and determined that it is false.

Multiple Pakistani and pro-military accounts on social media platforms X and Facebook shared a video since February 1, 2026, allegedly showing a Pakistani soldier praising his commander for fighting on the front line amid the recent attacks in Balochistan. However, the clip is AI-generated.

Terrorists attacked 12 cities and towns in Balochistan, including Quetta, on January 31, 2026. Government officials and security sources have since said that a total of 177 terrorists were killed during the past few days while 15 security personnel were martyred and 18 civilians lost their lives.

HOW IT STARTED

On Feb 1, PML-N London Senior Vice President Waheed Nazir shared a video that allegedly showed a Pakistani soldier praising his commander, who he said got shot and was currently in a hospital for treatment.

The caption of the post read, “145 khawarij reached hell. May Allah Almighty keep you all under his protection … long live Pakistan Army, long live Pakistan.”

The post garnered over 32,000 views.

A pro-military account also shared the same video on its X account with the following caption: “Commander Sahab was right at the front, he has been hit by a bullet. Please pray for his health and life. May Allah Almighty keep all of you in His protection. Ameen summa Ameen Ya Rabbil Alameen. Pakistan Armed Forces Zindabad.”

The post gained about 4,884 views.

Another account, which appears to be anti-PTI based on its past posts, also shared the same video on Facebook with the following caption: “Commander Sahib was at the forefront. He has been shot. Pray for his health and life. May Allah Almighty keep you all in His protection. Amen. Summa Amen. Long live the Pakistani forces. Salam Pakistan.”

The clip gained 112,000 views.

The clip was shared and reposted by several other users on Facebook, as can be seen here, here, and here; on X, as seen here, here, here, here, here and here.

METHODOLOGY

A fact-check was initiated to determine the veracity of the claim due to its virality and keen public interest in the terrorist attacks in Balochistan.

Closely observing the soldier in the video showed that he had only four fingers when he touched his forehead at the 2-second mark.

Furthermore, two soldiers can be seen in the background, sitting on a crate and holding a gun, both completely stationary and frozen, with not even the slightest movement.

The soldier can also be seen referring to his superior as a “commander”, which is vernacular that is not usually used in the military with personnel mostly referring to superior officers according to their ranks of brigadier, major, captain, etc.

Analysing the video with AI-detection tool Total Deepfake showed that it flagged the clip as being 100 per cent AI-generated.

A logo can also be seen in the video of “Frontline Vlogs”. A keyword search for it yielded a Facebook page whose bio said: “Welcome to Frontline Vlogs. Here we share unique AI-powered military vlogs and stories to honour our heroes.“

The video was posted on January 24, 2026 — a week before the Balochistan attacks.

FACT-CHECK STATUS: FALSE

The claim that a viral video shows a Pakistani soldier praising his commander amid the Balochistan attack is false.

The video is AI-generated and was posted a week before the attacks.
